Degenerative Disc Disease and Prolozone Therapy

Yesterday Robert went to a local Natural Health Clinic in Seattle and had a Prolozone treatment in his back for degenerative disc disease.   He will receive 3 injections over 6 weeks.  After meeting with the Doctor and discussing his back issues, he had Robert lay down on the exam table and started marking his back where the worst pain was.  He then inserted a small amount of antiseptic and then the Prolozone into four different areas of his back where the pain was the worst.

Robert has had back pain for more than 11 years, he was involved in a rear end accident in 2004 and never fully recovered.  A few different injuries over the years has made it worse each time to where he has been living in pain everyday, all day.  His pain level is normally between a 7 – 9 on a daily basis.  I could talk for hours about how his back pain has effected our lives but lets just say that back pain affects everyone around the person with the pain.

Brian wanted me to have a Prolozone treatment in my back, since taking care of my Mom for 5 years did some damage but after researching Prolozone and Brian finding a Doctor locally, that is trained by the one of the Pioneers in Ozone, I decided that Robert would benefit the most from this.

After his injections, he said his back was a little numb feeling from the antiseptic but otherwise he felt fine.  His pain level last night was about a 5.

I will post over the six weeks how this affects him and if he gets any relief from the back pain.

What is Prolozone

Prolozone is derived from the Latin word “proli” which means to regenerate or rebuild, and the word ozone. Ozone is the most highly active form of oxygen in the universe. Prolozone uses the power of oxygen to cause damaged tissues, joints, ligaments, and tendons to regenerate. This usually causes a complete healing, and a permanent end to pain.

How Does Prolozone Work

The reason that some injuries completely heal and others don’t has to do with circulation. In order for a damaged area of the body to regenerate and heal, it must have the critical elements that only the blood can provide: vitamins, minerals, and oxygen.

Of these, by far the most important is oxygen. Low levels of oxygen cause an accumulation of lactic acid, which is what causes pain. Prolozone works in three ways. First, homeopathic anti-inflammatory medications are injected into the injured area to reduce inflammation and swelling. This leads to increased circulation. Next, the area is treated with vitamins and minerals that are critical for healing.

And finally, the area is infiltrated with oxygen in the form of ozone. The result is that the tissues get what they need to heal. And as they heal, the circulation to the area is re-established, and the treatment is complete. The response to treatment varies from person to person, but most people only need from 3-5 treatments.
